SCORPION BAY

Scorpion Bay is a primitive recreation destination 650 to 890 road miles south of Tijuana depending on the route you take. Look on the West Coast of Baja California Sur, north of Magdalena Bay, south of San Ignacio Lagoon. San Juanico can be found near Punta Pequeña a south facing point with a lighthouse. La Purísima, to the east, is the closest pueblo inland.
San Juanico is a Mexican fishing village in transition.
Dewitt Knox Cannon, Osamu Nishimura, Andrew Belvedere, Cory Roberts & some other gypsies hit the village for a blast of good times.

Lightning Bolt’s inception dates back to 1968. The short board revolution was in full force, the style of surf was being redefined and there seemed to be no limitations for Hawaiian surfers. Among them were Gerry Lopez, Rory Russell and Jack Shipley: their graceful and stylish way of surfing made them unforgettable.
