Me & my friend, shoe designer Becca Moon went out for a drink @ cha cha lounge in LA to talk about her  future collection & check out some art.  The images were all painted on black velvet fabric. John Wayne's painting is my favorite. Her collection is now available on her site.

 

DJ OSAMU

Osamu is the unofficial chairman of the Venice Beach Boys Club, a loose collective of surfer, skater, bike riding lost boys that don't take life too seriously.
It's as DJ Osamu however that all of Venice knows him.  Responsible for putting this sleepy little beach encalve on the global partying map, all the while keeping the locals entertained with his weekly residencies in the best dive bars, restaurants, clubs as well as warehouse style one offs and house parties.  It's not really a party in Venice unless he's DJing.
Venice couldn't keep him a secret for long. Osamu is in demand all over the U.S and beyond, he toured Japan as a roady in 2009 with Eric Duncan from Rub n Tug/Still going fame.  He has DJ'd for companies such as Red Bull, Insight, Stussy, Chateau Marmont Hotel as well as on set for photographers such as Mario Testino and David Sims, at one shoot the supermodel Giselle named him her favorite DJ. Osamu is in the close knit almost secret society that throw the infamous Sarcastic Disco Parties, himself being an understudy of the legendary DJ Harvey, he is among the few that have guest DJ'd at his club thirtyninehotel in Hawaii. Osamu has a knack for reading the crowd whatever genre and igniting the dance floor from his all vinyl selection.

SCORPION BAY

Scorpion Bay is a primitive recreation destination 650 to 890 road miles south of Tijuana depending on the route you take. Look on the West Coast of Baja California Sur, north of Magdalena Bay, south of San Ignacio Lagoon. San Juanico can be found near Punta Pequeña a south facing point with a lighthouse. La Purísima, to the east, is the closest pueblo inland.
San Juanico is a Mexican fishing village in transition.
Dewitt Knox Cannon, Osamu Nishimura, Andrew Belvedere, Cory Roberts & some other gypsies hit the village for a blast of good times.
